Black and white peppercorns are both the fruit of the pepper plant, but black peppercorns are picked when almost ripe and sun-dried, turning the outer layer black. White peppercorns, on the other hand, have the outer layer removed before or after drying, leaving only the inner seed, which in this case is then ground.
Our white ground pepper is ideal for adding a peppery taste to sauces or other preparations where you want the pepper flavor, but not the color of black pepper specks.
